Half-life

GENOTROPIN: mean terminal half-life was about 0.4 hours after IV administration in normal adults and 3.0 hours after SC administration in adults with GH deficiency. Slower SC absorption explains the difference. Concentrations/formulations and patient populations are not interchangeable.

Species, route and formulation matter. Half-life does not define a safe dosing interval.

GENOTROPIN cartridges: 2–8°C; after mixing refrigerate up to 28 days. MiniQuick: unopened may spend up to three months ≤25°C; after mixing refrigerate up to 24 hours, then single use. Protect from light; do not freeze.
